UK | to be alive, was heaven

10 before time

before the Birth of Time
when a poem was popular
around the world
each appeared
like a morsel of daily bread,
eagerly grasped,
caught up in the
nation-building
a nation could echo,
or should I say,
translate,
dawn; to be alive,
was heaven
