Triple Crown

Terms of survival
telling out the lives
of Barrio women.

The Latin deli —
the cruel country,
the poet upstairs.

If I could fly over
an island like you,
silently dancing –

I’d reach mainland
before the revolution
covered our world.

We remember this —
speaking your names
— recalling freedom.
