My first car was a pale green Fiat called Francois that cost me $50. He could barely make it up the hills between Rowayton and Westport; and he liked to leak the air out of the right rear tire every day while I was at work. Men enjoyed sitting on the curb to watch me change that tire each afternoon. But, it being early days of women’s lib, none of them ever offered to help.
Later on, I had a spring green VW bug
a pale green VW camper,
and a deep pine green VW wagon.
Decades later I also purchased a used lime green VW bug, but
then I gave up VWs for ethical reasons
