Full Fledglings

As far as eagles can roam
Spirits may soar

Foxes walk here at dusk
Prints in clay

Flowers hide midst bushes
Burst yellow buds

Dust settles on fresh tracks
Trails disappear

Fire pits nestle ‘mong rocks
Still, dawn frosts

Between sunset and sundown
Horizons flatten out

Light slides ‘gainst gravity
Shadows crop up

Smells of dust transform
Night rains — mud

Moon and stars rise alight
Break clouds — apart

People walk the woodlands
Reconnected origins

. . . . .
