Lamento
A landmark, a house, and a painting –
otherwise a road outdoors comprising
surface where air remains unconfined.
Next, rivers recall fresher waters still
flowing from power sources: belle arti.
Nobody holds souls in beautiful frames.
Panoramic murals might separate towns.
Cafe edifices also echo residential music.
Illustrations remain in the picture book.
Easy to understand how old beckons new
–with gradual, upward, sinuous process.
Even more, views expect eyes this time.
Art evokes age: once space with purpose.
