Voicing the View
The center voices aim to raise up visibility.
Individual stories of diversity tell where they live and work.
Servants collect other voices from the steps.
Nothing can replace poetry in my life, yet one day it surely will.
Hands move on, partnered with four others
who have come to watch, even though we kiss inside the shade.
Buried streams make rivers unfurl dark light.
Kingfishers cast shadows and quiet dreams into the night sky.
Milkweed blossoms settle on horizons – lost,
like down — offering nothing but creative joy and quiet places
where one might walk with elevating flames.
